Kid City is our weekly environment created especially for your infants through 5th grade children. We can’t wait to meet them! We know things are busy at this stage of life and your children are learning and growing in amazing ways. We are ready for them!
Nursery | Newborn – 18 months
We know how important it is for you to trust that your child is in good hands. Specially trained, loving volunteers attend to the physical and emotional needs of your children and show the love of Jesus by offering them a clean, safe place to be, holding them gently then they’re upset, speaking kind words to them, and helping them make friends and have fun.
Toddlers | 18 months – 3 years old
We believe in an active, hands-on approach to learning with young children. So, you can plan on a lot of jumping, playing, dancing, laughter, and fun. We look forward to helping your toddlers learn to know God’s love and meet God’s family through Bible stories and friendships. It is our hope that your child will learn: God MADE me. God LOVES me. Jesus wants to be my FRIEND forever.
Preschool | 3 years old – 5 years old
What better way to spend your Sunday morning than having fun with friends and discovering that God loves you! These truths come alive through age-appropriate Bible stories, hands-on activities, and crafts. We believe the Bible should never be boring, Sunday mornings can be fun, it’s ok to get a little loud, and great leaders always care. It is our hope that your child will learn: God MADE me. God LOVES me. Jesus wants to be my FRIEND forever.
Elementary | Kindergarten – 5th Grade
In Elementary, the focus is our small group environment. We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk to him, and to build friendships that will last. Before kids head off to middle school, we want to make sure these three things stick: I can trust God no matter what. I need to treat others the way I want to be treated. I need to make the wise choice.
What to Expect
Upon arrival at the Manheim Township Middle School, look for our helpful greeters at the main entrance. They will be happy to direct you to the Kid City Check-In table. After checking in your child, feel free to take a tour of the Kid City areas. All classrooms will open at 10:15am if you wish to drop your kids off before the service. We do this to give you a few extra minutes to grab a cup of coffee, say hello to friends and neighbors, and grab a seat before 10:30am. You may pick up your child from their Kid City classroom after the service ends.
What We Do
Our mission in Kid City is to partner with you, the parents, to help your kids become fully engaged followers of Jesus Christ. We don’t simply want your kids attending church, our hope is to show them how to be the church. We plan a fun, full hour for your child that includes Bible stories, crafts, songs, games, and small group time for prayer, questions, and discussion.
Our volunteers at the Check-In table will happily help you check your child into Kid City. There you’ll input your child’s information, your contact information, as well as notify us of any allergies or concerns, and learn which room is age appropriate for your child. If you wish, our volunteers will gladly show you around the Kid City areas and introduce you and your child to their classroom leaders.
All our Kid City volunteers undergo an application process including a background check and training so you know your child will always have a safe and fun experience. Our goal is for these leaders to be another voice that is saying the same thing that you as parents are saying as they build a loving relationship with your child and point them towards Jesus.
